Development of an efficient simulation tool for multiproduct batch plant design
This paper describes the development of a simple and efficient modeling approach for designing multiproduct batch plants. The algorithm aims at selecting appropriately-sized process units from an existing inventory in order to maximise the daily production of a final product, while filling at least one equipment item at full capacity. A numerical example derived from an industrial-scale batch process is given and typical results are presented.
