Commercial processes for manufacturing methylamines, C-2-C-5 alkylamines, cyclohexylamines, and DABCO are reviewed with emphasis on technology developments that have occurred during the last fifteen years. New technologies which have been explored include zeolite-catalyzed methylamines processes, direct amination of isobutylene to produce t-butylamine, and catalytic distillation for production of butylamines and cyclohexylamine. Opportunities for further process improvements are discussed.
