High temperature contact conductance measurement across cylindrical joint by the periodic method: feasibility and first results
This paper deals with the possibility and the first measurements of thermal contact conductance of cylindrical joints by the periodic method at high temperature. The mathematical principle is presented. The calibration of the method is performed on a composite nickel/nickel cylinder, the interface of which has a controlled macroroughness. The experimental results are compared with the results of a geometric conductance model. A good agreement is observed.
