Modeling of heat transfer in turbulent gas-solid flow
The turbulent heat transfer in a vertical upward gas-solid flow is studied. The new model uses the two-way interaction of two-phase flows and an Eulerian/Lagrangian approach. The model considers the thermal turbulent field characteristics and includes k(0)-tau(0) equation model, in addition to the k-tau model for two-phase flow. Numerical model validation was performed for an upward pipe gas-solid flow with constant wall heat transfer. Variations of the heat transfer coefficient for a turbulent suspension of 200 mum sand particles at a Reynolds number of 23 000 is studied.
