Raman matrix isolation spectroscopy .5. Vibrational spectra and gas-phase structure of pentafluorosulfanyl hypochlorite
The preparation of SF5OCl from CLF and SOF2 in the presence of CsF is described. The Raman and infrared spectra are discussed, and the 18 fundamental vibrations are assigned. Furthermore, the SF5OCl has been investigated by gas electron diffraction and by theoretical calculations. The molecule of symmetry C-s has bond lengths of 156.0(2) pm (S-F), 165.7(14) pm (S-O), and 166.7(16) pm (O-Cl) with a S-O-Cl angle of 119.2(6)degrees.
