CROP-RESIDUE MANAGEMENT ON MECHANIZED FARMS IN INDIA
Most crop-residues left after mechanized harvesting are either incorporated into the soil or burnt. These crop-residues, however, have several uses in the Third World. We present a comparison of the effects of crop-residue management on crop yields, including the costs and benefits from incorporation into the soil, burning residues, and harvesting for use as a fuel.
