Further evaluation of the Shariati-Peters-Moshfeghian C7+ characterization method
In this work, the validity of the Shariati-Peters-Moshfeghian C7+ fraction characterization method has been evaluated for characterizing the heavier gas condensates and petroleum fractions. In this method, the C7+ fraction is always characterized using the chain-of-rotators group contribution equation of state (CORGC EOS), but the phase behavior of each system is predicted using either the CORGC, Peng-Robinson (PR) or the predictive-Soave-Redlich-Kwong (PSRK) equations of state. This technique has been validated by comparing the results with 17 sets of experimental data from literature. In addition, this method was compared with the Kokal-Sayegh-George, Firoozabadi-Katz, Coats-Smart, and Ahmed characterization methods. Results showed comparable prediction capabilities with other characterization methods.
