NORMAL STRESS DIFFERENCES IN LIQUID-CRYSTALS AND IN EXTREMELY SHEAR THICKENING DISPERSIONS
Application of the affine transformation model to the flow alignment and the anisotropy of the viscosity of nematic liquid crystals leads to expressions for the normal stress differences which match those recently observed by H.M. Laun in extremely shear thickening dispersions.
