The zinc-based sorbents(ZA-series/ZAM) were prepared and the tests for durability were carried out in this study for developing the highly effective desulfurization sorbents. In the multi-cyclic tests for ZAM, in which 10 wt% MnO2 is included as additive, the results showed that the sulfur capacity was 19g S/100g sorbent in the 5-cycle test. As comparing to ZA-series sorbents, ZAM developed in this study showed superior performances. From the experimental results it was found that ZAM has the desirable physical and chemical properties for desulfurization of coal gases.
