Electroless formation of PMMA latex thin films using surfactants with an azobenzene group
Thin films of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) particles on an indium-tin oxide glass were prepared by the contact plating method using a nonionic surfactant with an azobenzene group (AZPEG). The correlation between the optimum conditions for the film formation and some parameters, for example, AZPEG concentration And surface area of the PMMA particles, is discussed. In addition, the formation of aniline derivatives-by the reduction of AZPEG showed that the loss of the dispersing ability of AZPEG may lead to the deposition of particles on the substrate.
