Gas phase adsorption in environmental technology - Achievements and prospects
In the first part of this contribution the industrial gas phase adsorption treatments (PSA-, TSA-, and combined TSA-CSA processes) of VOC-containing (VOCs = volatile organic compounds) flue gases are discussed. Aside from a description of the technique and its applicability, special attention is focussed on the problems and weaknesses of the method. New treatments, such as electrochemical desorption and thermo-oxidative regeneration have been developed by several groups and are discussed in the second part.
