Facilitated transport of O-2 through alumina-zeolite composite membranes containing a solution with a reducible metal complex
A solution of lrCl(CO)(PPh3)(2) in m-xylene was immobilized in an alumina-zeolite MFI composite tubular membrane. The zeolite layer prevented the loss of solvent that could not permeate through its micropores, improving the stability of the resulting liquid membranes. O-2/CH4 and O-2/N-2 separation selectivities of 2.44 and 2.75, respectively, were achieved.
