Typhoon project: Flow-assurance issues
The flow-assurance issues addressed by the Typhoon production system include hydrate formation and paraffin and asphaltene deposition. The four Typhoon subsea wells have offsets ranging from 3,000 to 10,400 ft, initial shut-in wellhead pressures ranging from 7,100 to 8,100 psi, and a 43degreesF subsea temperature. The full-length paper describes the methods used to identify and evaluate the severity of the flow assurance issues and the hardware configurations and operating strategies used to mitigate the issues.
