A series of new poly(siloxane imide)s from N,N-dialkenylimides and 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane via polyhydrosilylation was synthesised. The polymer obtained from hydroquinone bis[(N-allylphthalimide)-4-carboxylate] showed liquid crystalline proper-ties. Its mesophase was in the range of 107-197degreesC.
