Frequency-dependent conductivity and dielectric studies on LixV2O5 (x=0.6-1.6)
The lithium vanadate LixV2O5 (x = 0.6-1.6) has been synthesized by solid state reaction method. The electrical studies are carried out on gold-coated samples. The transport properties, such as hopping frequency (sigma(p)), effective attempt frequency (sigma(e)) and energy for migration (E-m), have been calculated using the Almond and West formalisms. The bulk conductivity (nu(b)b), which is in the order of 10(-6) Omega(-1) cm(-1), has been obtained for all the samples from complex impedance plots. The modulus spectrum of the samples shows the non-Debye behavior of the lithium vanadate. The low-frequency dispersion of the dielectric constant implies the space charge effects arising from the electrodes.
