Oxygen permeation through dense Bi2V0.9Cu0.1O5.35 ceramic membranes
The oxygen permation fluxes through Bi2V0.9Cu0.1O5.35 (BICUVOX.10) ceramics were measured as functions of oxygen chemical potential gradient and temperature, in the 823-923 K range. The influence of the deposition of a La0.7Sr0.3MnO3-BICUVOX.10 composite on one or both surfaces of the membranes was evaluated. Due to the small oxygen exchange coefficient on the BICUVOX.10 surface, the oxygen permeating fluxes were extremely low. The results demonstrated that the oxygen surface exchange rate is the limiting step of the overall process.
