An organically templated cobalt-vanadium oxide with beta cage units: Hydrothermal synthesis and X-ray structural characterization of (C2H10N2)[Co-2(C2O4)V4O12]
A novel organically templated cobalt-vanadium oxalate, (C2H10N2)[CO2(C2O4)V4O12], was synthesized under mild hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal/powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The compound crystallizes in an orthorhombic system with space group Cmcm and cell parameters a = 11,527(2) Angstrom, b = 9.9476(18) Angstrom, c = 14.780(3) Angstrom. The compound possesses 3-dimensional topologies with socialite analogue structure and is constructed by C2O4-incorporated cage units. On the basis of the results of TG/DTA analyses, the structure is thermally stable up to similar to573 K.
