We consider a realistic example of chemical system which presents self-organized criticality. We can study the kinetic equations analytically, and show that the conditions for self-organized criticality are satisfied. We find power relaxation laws for certain variables near the critical state, confirming the self-organized critical behavior. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.
