Increasing yield and operating time of SLP-catalyst processes by flow reversal and instationary operation
The paper presents a method how to avoid a drawback of supported liquid-phase catalysts (SLPC), namely the vapourisation of the solvent of the catalyst. This problem is overcome by reversal flow and adsorbing beds on both sides of the catalytic bed. Furthermore, a considerable increase in the yield of a hydroformylation reaction by means of an SLPC under instationary operation could be achieved. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd.
