A series of proposed carbazole-based compounds are studied as host materials in an iridium phosphor-based guest-host organic light-emitting diode. Semi-empirical calculations are performed on each compound to predict its efficacy as a host material, and these theoretical predictions are compared to device performance for each compound, in an attempt to verify the model.
