Some theoretical aspects of catalyst behaviour in a catalyst particle at liquid (liquid-gas) reactions with gas production: oscillation motion in the catalyst pores
The theoretical analysis of liquid and gas behaviour in catalyst pores in chemical reactions producing a gas phase shows the existence of pulsating, oscillating movements of liquid in pores. The necessary conditions for the occurrence of such oscillations are defined. Influence of oscillation behaviour on the chemical rate as well as its possible influence with regard to increasing mass transfer are discussed. Analysis and illustration of this kind of reactions are carried out using the results of hydrogen peroxide decomposition on CuCr catalyst [Chem. Eng.
