Hydrodesulfurization with RuS2 at low hydrogen pressures
At low hydrogen pressures, is there an inherent limit beyond which additional hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity may not be achievable within the operating envelope of existing HDS process? In seeking an answer, we offer the following observation: RuS2 achieves deep HDS of a refractory petroleum distillate at hydrogen pressure as low as 0.79 MPa.
