Numerical Simulation of Micromixing by Pulsatile Micropump
E-mail:
A mixing in micromixer activated by pulsatile micropump is analyzed numerically and theoretically. The oscillatory flow generated by the micropump can induce the wavy interface to increase the contact area of mixing fluids and to enhance the mixing process. An optimal frequency of pulsatile flow is sought numerically, and confirmed by simple theoretical analysis. The fluids are mixed much better than when diffusion is the only mixing mechanism.
