Thermal vibration in superionic conducting glasses by neutron elastic scattering
The elastic and the total neutron scattering experiments were performed for 10AgI-3Ag(2)O-2V(2)O(5) and 3Ag(2)O-2V(2)O(5) glasses at room temperature. Temperature dependence of the elastic scattering profile was also investigated for 10AgI-3Ag(2)O-2V(2)O(5) glass from 10 to 295 K. The change of the mean-square-displacement averaged through all the constituent ions with temperature and composition was clarified based on the neutron scattering profiles. The overall mean-square-displacement was found to change linearly with temperature. The relation between the mean-square-displacement and the ionic conductivity in AgI-doped glasses was discussed.
