An optimization-driven framework for the computation of the controlling UEP in transient stability analysis
The controlling unstable equilibrium point (UEP) method is a well-known direct method in transient stability analysis. One key step involved in the controlling UEP method is the computation of the controlling UEP. In this note, an optimization-based methodology for the computation of the controlling UEP is presented. The proposed methodology is shown to provide a unified framework for the early developed algorithms. The analytic foundation of the methodology is also provided.
