The heat capacity of Au2S(cr) at low temperatures and derived thermodynamic functions
The heat capacity of synthetic crystalline gold sulfide, Au2S, was determined from 14 to 309 K. Fitting of the heat capacity curve yields the following values of the standard thermodynamic properties at 298.15 K and 1 bar: C-p,m(0) =83.54 +/- 0.15 J K-1 mol(-1), Delta(0)(298) S-m(0) = 139.22 +/- 0.77 J K-1 mol(-1), and Delta(0)(298) H-m(0) = 17.591 +/- 0.041 kJ mol(-1).
