Separation and Characteristics of Fluorine-Containing Amphoteric Poly(acrylate)s
We describe the synthesis and characterization of amphoteric poly(acrylate), consisting of a F-marcromer and a 2-(dimethyl amino)ethyl methacrylate (2-DMAEMA). The amphoteric polymer were prepared by marcromonomer technique and radical copolymerization. After copolymerization, the resultant reaction solution was purified by silica column. In this study, separation of amphoteric poly(acrylate)s and characterization by InfraRed Spectroscopy, Gel Permeation Chromatography, Polarized Optical Microscopy, and Differential Scanning Calorimeter were described. The IR traces showed that the amphoteric poly(acrylate) was separated successfully and the characteristic peaks of both hydrophobic F-macromer and hydrophilic polymer of p(2-DMAEMA). The amphoteric poly(acrylate) have number average molecular weights(Mw) about 38,000 by GPC.
