Oscillation theory - Part 2. Heat flux from the catalyst surface. Contradiction to the Thiele/Zeldovich model
In the hydrogenation reaction of 1-octene to n-octane, the heat flux from the surface of a catalyst particle defined directly in experiments occurs several times more than estimated by the Thiele/Zeldovich model. Such a discrepancy is explained by the oscillation model: alternating motion of liquid in catalyst pores caused by heat generation. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
