Droplet evaporation corrections for aerial spray drift modeling I: Theoretical considerations
This article investigates the overprediction of downwind deposition relative to field drift data by the aerial spray drift model AgDRIFT(R), focusing on droplet evaporative effects as the possible cause. Two topic areas are considered: (1) examination of the effects on droplet temperature as droplets are released into the aircraft wake, and (2) exploration of the local relative humidity surrounding the released droplets issuing from the nozzles on the spray boom.
