Dynamic analysis of sorption and dissolution of ethyl bromide at gas-water interface
Sorption of ethyl bromide in water was investigated by the moment technique. Analysis of pulse-response experimental data, for a model which considered adsorption at the gas-liquid interface as well as dissolution in the liquid layer, proved the significance of sorption prior to dissolution. By this technique, adsorption equilibrium constant of ethyl bromide on water surface was evaluated as 0.3 cm(3)/cm(2) at 30 degreesC, with a Henry's constant of 8.2. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
