Excess molar enthalpies for binary mixtures of ethanol plus benzene, plus cyclohexane, plus propyl acetate and 1-propanol + benzene, plus cyclohexane, plus heptane at 348.15 K
The excess molar enthalpies, H-E, were measured for the binary mixtures of ethanol + benzene, + cyclohexane, + propyl acetate and 1-propanol + benzene, + cyclohexane, + heptane at 348.15 K and atmospheric pressure by a flow-type isothermal microcalorimeter. The experimental results show that the excess enthalpies of these systems are all endothermic over the entire composition range. The maximum H-E values of the binary systems are in the range of 1173 J mol(-1) to 1665 J mol(-1). The experimental H-E data were correlated with the modified Redlich-Kister equation, the Peng-Robinson and the cubic chain-of-rotators equations of state, and the NRTL and the Wilson models. Two versions of the UNIFAC model were also used to predict the excess enthalpies. The calculated results were compared with the experimental values. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
