Integrated fractured-reservoir characterization and simulation: Tunisian application
The Sidi El Kilani (SILK) field produces oil from a fractured carbonate reservoir and has consistently outperformed expectations. It has proved difficult to describe and model the fracture distribution or to predict or control water breakthrough. This integrated study used geophysical, geologic, and engineering data simultaneously to improve the reservoir description. The successful fracture characterization was mostly the result of the extensive use of 3D-seismic data.
