Estimating phase equilibria of a van der Waals fluid on the basis of molecular interactions
Parameter a(ij) of mixing rules of a van der Waals type equation of state was established using the linear solvation energy relationship model that allows separation of the influence of different types of intermolecular forces. The resulting equation of state successfully represents liquid-vapor-phase diagrams of binary mixtures of polar and nonpolar components for a wide range of temperatures.
