An analytical study of pulsating laminar heat convection in a circular tube with constant heat flux
Pulsating laminar convection heat transfer in a circular tube with constant wall heat flux is investigated analytically. The results show that both the temperature profile and the Nusselt number fluctuate periodically about the solution for steady laminar convection, with the fluctuation amplitude depending on the dimensionless pulsation frequency, omega*, the amplitude, gamma, and the Prandtl number, Pr. It is also shown that pulsation has no effect on the time-average Nusselt numbers for pulsating convection heat transfer in a circular tube with constant wall heat flux. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
