An enzymatic process for the physical refining of seed oils
Edible oil from oil-bearing seeds, such as soybeans, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds, can be recovered by chemical or physical refining methods. By combining enzymatic degumming of seed oils with physical refining, not only is the amount of waste water reduced, but an enhancement in product yield and lower operating costs can be realized. The combined enzymatic and physical processing of oils is presented.
