High heat flux cooling by liquid jet-array modules
Liquid jet impingement has a demonstrated capacity for high heat flux cooling. Here, we describe the use of a water jet array in removing heat fluxes of 1 to 17 MW/m(2) over an area of 10 cm(2). The jet array size may be increased for thermal management of larger areas. Cooling in this system is by single-phase convection. Metal film resistance heaters have been developed for testing purposes.
