Ionic conduction in photosensitive biocomplex of Acacia Arabica
In this present work, solid specimens of photosensitive biocomplex of gum Acacia Arabica are prepared and their electrical and photoelectrical characters are examined experimentally. It has found that this new material exhibits electrical conduction, which is mostly ionic in nature and also found high photosensitivity due to presence of photo-chemical or redox-active molecules. These molecules are capable of absorbing and/or emitting light by losing or gaining an electron. The photosensitivity property of the chromophore is retained in the developed complex.
