Practical guidelines for field remediation or gas hydrates
Natural-gas hydrate formation is a costly and challenging problem for the oil and gas industry. In recent years, two new families of chemical additives have been developed to prevent hydrate plugging problems in production lines. The two new families are kinetic inhibitors (Ells) and antiagglomerants. Successful deployment of low-dose inhibitors (LDI's) depends on appropriate inhibitor selection and a complete understanding of the system. The full-length paper describes a systematic approach for designing a deployment strategy.
