A Study on Separation Process Development for the Mixture of DME+Methanol+CO2 from DME Synthesis Process
Dimethyl Ether(DME) is a clean and economical alternative fuel which can be produced from various resources as natural gas, coal or biomass through synthesis gas(CO + H2). The properties of DME are similar to those of LPG and it can be used for various fields; power generation fuel, transportation fuel, home fuel, etc. An innovative separatio process for the direct synthesis of DME from synthesis gas has been under being developed. Newly developed separation process is composed of a DME separation column and a CO2 separation absorption column. The DME production rate was set at 50 kg/day with purity of 99.5wt%. The CO2 separation column is designed for CO2 to be absorbed by MEA (monoethanolamine).
