Polyacrylamide gels for water shutoff in fractured-granite basement reservoirs
Water shutoff and sweep efficiency improvement in high-temperature fractured-granite basement reservoirs has not been adequately studied. A variety of polyacrylamide compounds with inorganic and organic crosslinking agents were tested for stability at high temperatures. The effects of temperature, polymers, crosslinkers, brine salinity, and pH on gelation and stability were studied.
