Effect of reaction kinetics on amplification of input temperature perturbations in a packed-bed reactor: Comparison of CO-oxidation on Pt/Al2O3 and on CuO/Al2O3
We analyze the experimentally studied processes described in the title to understand the higher amplification factor (by 2x) for perturbations in the CuO-catalyzed reaction. The competition of thermal self-acceleration and heat dispersion is the key factor. The CuO-system has higher reaction acceleration and lower heat dispersion than the Pt-system.
