Larnaca desalination plant operation - a client and contractor perspective
The Larnaca seawater desalination plant is the largest and most advanced Sea Water Reverse Osmosis plant in Cyprus. Following an international tender from the Cyprus Government, the 10 year BOOT project was awarded to IDE Technologies Ltd with the following specifications: 10 year BOOT concept, starting in June 2001 Installed capacity of 54,000 m(3)/d conforming to WHO and EU drinking standards Fully automated desalination Plant Six Units-9,000 m(3)/d capacity each Seawater feed from 1000 m pipeline Recovery of 50% Pre treatment Filtration-Gravity dual media filters Product delivery to 12 km with 90 in elevation Total energy consumption < 4.52 KWh/m(3) (include delivery to 1.2 km from Plant). Delivery to 12 km from plant.
