Atom TransferRadical Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate from Shortened Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

We have applied surface-initiated, atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) to shortened multi-walled carbon nanotubes (s-MWCNTs) to successfully form s-MWCNT/poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composites, which we characterized using IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
