Hydrogen production from methanol/water photodecomposition over the Cu loaded TiO2
This study investigated hydrogen production over Cu(1, 5, 10, and 15 mol%)/TiO2 photocatalysts loading CuO, a conducting component. Nanometer particles of TiO2 were produced using the conventional sol-gel method, and them they were impregnated by CuNO3 solution;they were finally treated at 500℃ to obtain the anatase structure. The H2 production from methanol/water photodecomposition was greater over the Cu/Tio2 photocatalysts than over the pure TiO2; the production reached 13,500 μmoles after 10 h over 10 mol% Cu/TiO2. After methanol/water photodecompolsiton, the Cu component showed in the 10 mol% Cu/TiO2 photocatalyst unlikely the fresh.
