A study on the attrition resistance at various bulk density of zinc sorbents
The zinc-based desulfurization sorbents for a fluidized-bed system were prepared by a spray drying method and the effects of the inorganic binder and viscosity of the slurry on the attrition resistance of the prepared sorbents were investigated in this work. In order to improve the attrition resistance, alumina sol was used for an inorganic binder. From the experiments, the best physical properties of the sorbent were obtained when the amount of inorganic binder of the slurry was 200 g and the value of viscosity was from 400 cP to 550 cP. At those value, bulk denstiy of the sorbent was about 1.3 g/cc and AI(attrition index) was 35.
