Safe operation and control of trickle-bed reactor
The paper deals with the investigation of the laboratory trickle-bed reactor dynamic behaviour under its digital control based on the axial temperature profile monitoring followed by the feed concentration change. Cyclohexene hydrogenation using palladium on charcoal catalyst has been chosen as a model reaction for the atmospheric experiments. The possible way for the prevention of hot-spot formation in the catalyst bed by means of an on-line control algorithm has also been demonstrated.
