Plasma graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate and cyclodextrin immobilization
Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was graft-polymerized to plasma treated fibers after short exposure to air, and beta-cyclodextrin was chemically bound to the grafted Surface. Graft polymerization is achieved by glycidyl methacrylate at the lower concentration of 2 w/v% in the aqueous solution with sodium dodecylsulfate that was added to increase the monomer solubility. The beta-cyclodextrin immobilized fibers adsorbed phenols effectively in the aqueous solution. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
