Excess molar volumes of ternary mixtures of 1,3-dichlorobenzene and methyl ethyl ketone with 1-alkanols at 303.15 K
New excess volume data for four ternary mixtures were measured at 303.15 K. The mixtures included 1,3-dichlorobenzene and methyl ethyl ketone as common components. 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol and 1-hexanol were served as non-common components. The measured ternary excess volume (V-123(E)) data are negative as a function of composition in all the mixtures. Further, the experimental data were compared with those predicted by empirical equations and were analysed in terms of intermolecular interactions between component liquids. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
