Quality Assurance in Plant Construction. In recent years plant construction companies have been seeking certification on the basis of the ISO 9000 series of international standards, above all because of the international nature of their business. The present article considers the principal demands made on plant constructors, with special emphasis on customer demands.These concern, among other things, the delivery of the right plant for the given task and the reliability and flexibility of the plant constructor. The main focus is on the establishment of a relationship of trust, project definition, knowledge base, project management, risk considerations and acceptance, data processing, and the development of quality consciousness. The goals of quality production, i.e. adherence to agreed technical criteria, are taken for granted and therefore not discussed in this context.
