CO2 formation in an optically excited V-V up-pumped CO flow
We report experiments conducted in optically excited V-V up-pumped pure CO in order to highlight CO2 production. The infrared optical emission of the CO first overtone vibrational transitions and, for the first time, of a few CO2 vibrational transitions were recorded as well as the intensity of the (0-0) band of the Swan system (d(3)II(g)-a(3)II(u)) of the C-2 molecule. This allows us to discuss the vibration enhanced chemical reactions leading to CO2 formation.
